Can anyone comment on the condition of the boat landings on Mille Lacs, particularly the south shore area? Heading up tomorrow and reports are that some are not in good shape given lower water conditions.
Thanks,
Paul

The best ones on the lake are Terrys Boat Harbor, and Mack's Twin Bay, toward the south end of the lake. Not sure of any of the others, we fish mostly the west, east, and north end of the lake. The Red Door on the north end dredged out to the first break, and many of the other resorts also dredged, but not sure which ones. Call some of the resorts and ask... www.millelacs.com

Use Eddys for a good south side access. Worth the $10.

Don't use Terry's. He said some inflamatory statements during a town hall meeting about "out of towners" and there is a local boycott of his place. I used it last weekend and all my windows were broke out of my new truck and the other trucks parked in his lot by the locals, fortunately nothing was stolen.

Are you serious? Why have we not heard of this incident?

Not funny.

If this isn't true, don't post crap like this.

I agree not funny, I can't believe that someone hasn't come forward and said yes it was true there was a police report made of the vandalism or an article in the local paper. If it isn't true the moderators should dust the post, this subject has been beat to death on several web sites that I visit and is old news get over it. I guess if everyone believes this crap there will be plenty of parking spaces for me at Terry's when I come up for the full moon bite in October.

Based on the article I read today, I'd be more worried about the condition of the fishing at Mille Lacs. I guess the net survey this year yeilded the lowest results since 1983, signigicantly lower than last year. I've talked to others that have fished there and they indicated things have dried up a little compared with years past. Anyone know why?

Still want to spend your hard earned money with Terry's Boat Harbor? Quote from Terry's:

"There shouldn't be any free access to the lake," Thurmer continued. "The guys using the public access are not the guys paying real estate taxes here. You are making it really easy for them and make it really hard for us to make a business. We need to keep the fishing prostitutes away from public access."

Yes, I sure do. Especially with the low water conditions. I'll gladly pay anyone $10 or even $20 to launch where I fish and have piece of mind that I won't wreck my $40K rig on the way out.

You do what "you" need to do, and "I" will do what "I" need to do... :exactly:

I used Terry's last Friday night and it was in great shape. Worth the $10 if you ask me. Just my .02 I'm not easily offended and its water under the bridge, the Lord knows i've said dumb stuff a time or two but luckily a reporter was not present.

Red Door, Fisherman's Wharf and Hunters point are all in good shape.
