Getting ready to tye up some bucktails and need to replace my thread. After looking there is a bunch of different types and sizes. Any recommendations on what's best for tying smaller bucktails? I've always just used sewing thread. I prefer white. Thanks for any help.

Gudebrod GX2 is made from Spectra and is tough as nails. Great thread. Great for spinning deer hair and big flies. Will work excellent for bucktail jigs.
Uni products Big Fly thead is another very good thread to use.

Thanks Matt.
The Gudebrod, E Nylon thread is plenty and used by many for jigs tied with bucktail. Myself with 1/4 oz-3 oz. with the deer hair. Usually found in the Rod Building sections, such as at Jann's Netcraft or Barlows. Size A is plenty for smaller jigs with finer hair such as that used for the Hair Jigs for the spring reef bite in Erie. Waxed Mono cord is another favorite, especially with ball jigs and no collar.

Try waxed dential flos, we've been using it for years on both hair & rubber smallmouth jigs. Just finish with three or four half hitches pulled tight & they never come loose.

All great ideas, thanks guys.
We use our old fireline after dying the line black.
I like white too. I can just colour the thread with a permanent marker to any other shade if I want.

A buddy picked me up several different whites at Gander. Trying them all shortly.
