hi, i'm fishing a mid-size undammed eastern river, the Delaware.my section consists of 1/2-1 mile long pools with shallow riffs in between.there are some runs of 4-6 ft. water too. february and march are usually very productive here. water temps are usually in the mid thirties to mid forties. this year the water is unusually low and clear,(clear, like, you can see you jig sitting on the bottom in 10 ft.) bordering on drought conditions, with no relief in sight. the eyes don't seem to be holding in the usual eddies very often.i would expect the fish to be in the deepest darkest water, but this doesn't seem to be the case. the current flow is much reduced and i think this has allowed the eyes to spread out to areas where i don't normally find them including some areas with a fair amount of current. my most productive technique is casting 1/8 oz. jigs with plastic tails. I've caught fish, but the big ones, 5-10 lbers, have been avoiding me. Any ideas on how to deal with these conditions? Thanks,
john bry
