View Full Version : Guidewear Color?
What color Guidewear did you choose? I've heard that the red can attract various flying insects...
Thanks, Turk.

I have the red and have never noticed that I'm attracting insects when wearing it. I like the bright color for visibility. I think other boats should be able to easily see you, especially if it's rainy or foggy.

I don't have guidewear yet but I have never seen it in a camo pattern which is what I think I would like since I also hunt and need rain protection during thos activities. As far as attracting bugs I don't think it matters.

I went to the bargain cave also last year at the Mitchell store. Bought the geen set. The best investment that I have ever made for fishing gear. I don't think color matters...when you are nice and dry!!
I also bought green.I figured I could also use it for hunting.

I bought the red because I thought if I went in the drink it would be more visible, or at least they'd find the body quicker so my wife could start enjoying being a millionaire sooner.:)

I have the camo 3 in 1 Goretex parka that I use for hunting and fishing along with the green bibs. I am not sure if the parka is the exact same thing as the Guidewear, but I think that it is pretty darn close and has performed very well for me.

I would go with green. I have blue, and it looks really nice when it is new, but it fades real bad. My friends and partners have green and it don't fade, so I would go with green.

I went with the grey parka and black bibs to
match my new boat. Because its doesn't matter
if you can catch fish its just about how good
you look trying!!!

I just purchased a new set at the Mitchell store a week ago. I thought black looked good, but like others, picked red which also looks good. The thought of falling overboard and being easy to spot did cross my mind. Much easier to spot red in a dreary and rainy day. Cablas had the guidewear on sale and I got $50 off each the bib and parka. I may take the parka back and trade it for the jacket as it may be a little confining. Haven't worn it outdoors yet, but it looks like high quality gear.

I choose camo rain gear cause I also use it while hunting. The one thing I don't like about that color is that it also blends in with the fish if you are taking pictures. I never gave this a thought till looking through some photos and caught myself squinting as I was looking at some of them that were taken while I was wearing my rain gear. hope this helps <"{{{{{{<

Never wear red with pumps I recommend heels. If you get cammo, heels are out of the question sorels in 12 inches would be appropriate. What are you wearing tommorrow when you go fishing? Let me know, don't want to have the same outfit on people might talk. Also what flavor chapstick do you use? I use garlic flavor keeps the vampires away. Don"t use cherry flavor. Give me a break. Get what ever color matches your complextion

No black or anything dark, in my opinion the fish do not need any more help then they all ready have. Dress right and they won't turn until they your eyes, then you might have a chance to grab their tails or smack them over the head with the rod ;) I fish alone and have to put up with quite a few porpoises.
