I've been told that every 10 yards of Leadcore line will run 5 to 10 feet deep. Looking for a more definte number. Thanks

5 feet per color is about as definite as it gets. Leadcore is so bulky - if you want less than 5 feet - go faster - if you want more - go slower.

Leadcore is very speed dependant.

The 5 feet per color is at @ 1.8-2 mph - in general.

I heard there is a reel that will give the depth of the lure tied to the line - in Japan. I always thought it would be interesting to see that...

Thanks for the reply. Would like to see one of those reels also.

The Big Water edition of Precision Trolling has the dive curve. It has 33 feet down with 5 colors at 2.0 MPH. In my opinon 5 colors will only get you to about 25 feet at 1.8 MPH. I have a meter that I can attach to the end of my line that will give me the depth. I will have to try it out with lead core.

How big is the meter? Share - we want to know about this thing!

Is the meter so big it would distort results?

It is about 3.5 inches long and about 2 inches wide. It is not that heavy and it is neutrally boyant. I do not think that it would skew the depth too much. It is about the size of a lure. It says Koch Fish Finder on it. I forgot where I ordered it from.
