Whate is better for walleye trolling? My friend uses wire for deep water fishing and I see alot written about lead core, If I were to rig a pole what would you use and why.

Wire and leadcore are used for two differant reasons. Leadcore gives added depth because of the weight of the lead core, wire gives added depth because of the smaller diameter compared to mono and also does sink but no where near as much as leadcore.
Try to think of leadcore as a super long inline weight, that will slowly rise and sink on turns and speed changes. Think of wire as a smaller diamter regular line getting additional depth because of less resistance.
If you are new to wire I would not suggest it! It is a royal pain in the butt! It does catch fish though. I would suggest a super braid like fireline or power pro in a appropriate test to get deeper. It is easy to work with, when both of the others are a pain, but do have their moments to shine.
