Don't forget to call in for your Ontario license...
Last year I phoned in for license by mail to save a trip over the pond and it got held up by American customs for almost 2 months... I missed ice out perch because I didn't recieve it until the end of April!
I called in last week so will see what happens this year???
If anybody needs the phone number for the ministries:
1-800-667-1940
You will need cr. card info handy...........Paul

Any reason other than convenience to get it by mail instead of just picking one up when you get to Canada?

I get mine by mail because I don't actually got on land to canada. I just run over to their waters on Erie to fish for walleye and steelies. If you go ashore to get a license , then you have another set of rules to comply with and I'd just as soon avoid the hassle.

I get mine by mail because where I live, the only place I can get a license is about 90 miles away. That would be the only reason to drive that distance, so it is cheaper for me to have it mailed.

Here's one for yas!
My wife asked me what she had to do to call in for her license because she wanted to go perching with us. I gave her the info....
I sent for my license and a friends on the 24th of January and they have yet to arrive.
My wife's license came in the mail today and she called her's in on the 11th of Feb. Go figure????????????????
At least I had a good chuckle today

I recieved the license(s) today. 1 month 4 days.
By the way you can call in a friend's license info. also. Just have their information ready and they mail them all in the same envelope.
I find it saves alot of gas and time. This day and age a round trip for me is about 80-90 miles plus bridge fare...
Anyhow, glad to get them early this year..........Paul

They will ask you if you can wait 4-6 weeks for a license...but mine only took 7-10 days. No problems. Price went up a little. Mail order is easier than fighting your way back and forth across the border if you aren't actually staying in Canada. We stay in International Falls.

Calling in with a credit card is the easiest way. I have had them refuse to do it that way twice. Now I fax it in and I usually get in a week or so. They will send you a new fax form and regulation book with the license.
I just get mine at some of the lodges I go to. They always have them.
Good luck,
Jawjerker
