What is the best suspending bait out of the package for the money. Lucky's are 20 bucks, but work well. some of the others work, but only when they actually suspend. I've found i can buy three cheap ones and not have any work? Anybody fish any of the basspro or cabelas suspending baits? Your insight is appreciated.

I still think it's hard to go wrong with either the Husky Jerk or the X-rap.

Sometimes I'll adjust the eye of the Husky jerk to give it a slightly different action when needed, but I don't have as much problem doing that on a $6.00 lure than on a $20.00 lure.

Husky Jerks and certain Rouges are suspending baits and both work great expecially in cooler water.

Construction, reliabilty, performance, consistancy, durability, realism, what else do you need to know?

I agree Rapala is probably the best priced bait for the money. However the glass shad raps were kind of a dissapointment for me, but the husky jerk is still an excellent bait. Rogues can be awesome, or awful, poor consistency...its a shame. thanks for the comments

I have been using the Bass Pro shops "Pro series suspending minnow" for about 5 years now (they were originally called "Bassmasters suspending minnows") These are top notch baits. They seldom need any tweeking and are ready to fish right out of the package. I think they rate right up there with the Lucky Crafts as far as quality. I like to fish the larger 5" size. They are priced reasonably at $7 as comparred to the $17 LC's. And they really do catch a lot of big walleyes.
