I have thought about trying Last Mountain Lake in Manatoba. Any good resorts? Bait shops? Any clue where to fish in July or August for walleye?

Thanks The Worm Dunker

I've fished Last Mountain Lake in Saskatchewan if that's the one you are refering to? I usually put in at Rowan's Ravine Provincial Park. Great place!

Excellent bait shop, marina, some cabins. I have fished there in July and August and have down awesome. We fished directly across the lake and a little north of the marina along the west shore. We pulled cranks in 25' of water with lead core.

The Provincial Park is about and hour north of Regina on pavement right to the waters edge if I remember correctly. There are probably some other boat ramps but this place has everything needed and have friendly people.

Watch out for the wind though. Can get kind of tricky when it gets to a blowin.

We used Perch colored Shad Raps and Frenzy deep divers. Couple colors of lead and trolled at 1.5 to 2 MPH on the west side of the lake. There are some white colored rock piles in the water and near the shore.

Just do a search for Rowan's Ravine on the net and you'll get lots of info.

Hope this helps.

Last Mountain Lake is in Saskatchewan.

July and August fishing can be tricky, depends on weather. Crankbaits and bottom bouncer/spinner rigs are the most productive. Jigging or lindy rigging can be killer in the right situations.

At any rate, you'll be catching BIG fish.

Here's a few links to check out -

http://www.gsmarina.com/ This operation is right at Rowan's Ravine Provincial Park. The marina, boat launch, and camping facilities here and at the provincial park are absolutely first rate. They offer everything you need including guided fishing. They'll definitely point you in the right direction.
