Have been catching smaller eyes below a dam, anchored on the top end of a 20-25 foot hole. Casting slip sinker and floating jig onto the edge and letting it bounce till it swings over into the hole.
Are the big ones with the smaller ones when the stage or do they find
a different staging area? One other thing are the active fish generally top of hole, middle , or end of hole or does it matter?
Thanks John

big girls might be near by, but won't usually be that deep.
Front of hole is considered to be location of most active fish, edges all along hole might be good.

I think the bigger females are there, just not active. Until night. I think those male's are similar to the species-uh, US. So many men with so few women. And we'll just bite on anything that moves...watch the temps of water and females will bite. Fish Slow. Real slow. She's just not active, yet. Try a Jig and minnow. And some hard baits too. If you can be lucky enough to get yor hands on some older In- Fisherman mag's or videos. A wealth of info there. Al know's how to take them. I've got recording's back to the 80's. Classic.
