Watching the FLW tours I've noticed some fishermen shaking a green coloured powder in their livewells, anyone know what this product is? and the nature of is use. I'm thinking that is something to assist stressed fish to rejuvinate

It's mostly (almost all) salt & some coloring, a fishes gills work better with a little salt in the water.
I have a 11,500 gallon koi pond, and it takes about 80 pounds (about 10 gallons)of salt to get it up to the recommended PPM (parts per Million)of .1%.
Non-iodized salt replaces electrolytes which fish lose in times of stress, kills bacteria and some parasites and also helps restore the mucous layer .
You have to be somewhat careful though, if overdone you can kill freshwater fish.
