Just wondering, anybody pick up any of these rods?
We hit the Cabella's in Rogers and picked up two of them, I'm not familiar with these rods, but for half price and the fact they felt pretty good for walleye rods, we figured we'd take a chance, we got the med action fast tip 7ft spinning rods.
I guess we'll find out how good they work next spring..:)

Also as long as we were buying unknowns, we looked at reels for them and ended up getting a pair of Shimano Saros 2500F reels, the wife and I liked the way they felt and we figured why not, gotta get reels for the rods anyway.
We'll find out how they work next spring too...:)

Spring is almost here...right??

Yea, I fell prey to buying 5 of them. At $59.95 I feel that its a pretty good rod for the money. I wish Cabelas would stop all their sales and $30 off coupons. I'm going broke with all the money I'm saving.

Do these rods that on sale have the new style reel seat or the older style as shown in 07 catalog??

Jimmy I don't know which is which, but the salesguy at Cabella's said they were on sale because of the 08 (or newer rods) coming out and they were designed differently, best guess is they are the old version.
Seems like they tighten up on the reels we bought ok though.

They are the ones that you can add the weight to the back of the handle if that helps?

I believe the new 08 models are different. The forend cork tightn's down on the front leg of the reel. Less metal to make the hands warm.Any rate its a good price.

I went to the store in Omaha and they were regular price. I had to order them on-line for the sale price.

I have used these rods for years during the jig bite on Erie. They are a good rod.

Good to hear they are good rods, may go back and see if anymore are left.

I notice in my email ad from Cabella's they were part of the Bargain Cave items, when we went to the one in Rogers they were actually out on the main floor next to the regular fishing stuff.

The ones on the rack Thursday had normal price. I asked one of the sales employees and he new nothing about the sale. Go figure.

With free shipping to the store, I will get mine anyway.

If anyone looks on-line they are going fast. Casting are about gone but spinning can still be purchased.

Thanks for the info.
