It's winter, and the minds all over the fishing that is soon to come for me. Youz guys too? Well ponder this and tell me what you think. With very little wind,I'm drifting slowly from deep water/about 17' up onto the shallower water, say 6' and get 1-2 fish. Using a Jig-minnow by the way, (I'm using the trolling motor to control me). When I turn it around and drift in the opposite direction, I nail a #7 and catch 5 more in about an hour. Do you think it matters? I do. And the speed, may vary 1-2 mph, and is that sometimes enough to up the bites you get? Or do you think the bait is moving in that direction? I know what I think, and I've seen it make no difference too. What do you think?

"IN THE ZONE" Often, when drifting or even control drifting from deep to shallow (or the other way around), we can miss the moments sweet spot. Drop marker buoys at the moment of the strike. Come back and make a 90 degree turn to follow that depth line for some distace. If one way doesn't work, go the other way.
