Fished there Sat. Caught about 20 Sauger no walleye. 1/4 oz jigs color didn't seem to matter. Stinger hooks a must. Get the ones they sell at rivers edge in the film cannister size 12. Kept five fish, between three of us biggest about 2 1/2 lbs It wasn't a hot bite but it was consistent. Missed probably 4 fish for everyone caught. Best area, stand at the rivers edge launch look straight out downstream. go about 200 yards about where the river level ruler is and start slipping. If you are caught in the eddy you need to start alittle further downstream. Good for about 100 yards then start over. Once you hit 30 feet you are too deep. Best fishing sat was 13 to 28ft. Again when looking downstream from rivers edge it would be on the left hand bank. lots of crowds at the cables didn't see too much action there. Good luck.

Freddie...where exactly is the river level ruler? I have fished there for years and never seen it. Is it at the creek where the Ducks go up on shore?
I have found that trolling the North bank of the river past the huge rock next to the railroad track (way upstream) with a bottom bouncer and a crankbait is productive. Fishing the dam in the wash is also very good with Rapalas...nothing deep and watch your anchor...it will get hung up.

Craig,
Have Yet To Fish The Dells Yet This Spring. But The Launch And Bait Shop Are At The Resort. Standard Jigs And Rigs Work,The Bait Shop Is Very Helpful With Info Also Stop At The Bar Good Food. This Time Of The Year You Get To Meet Alot Of Other Boats up Close So Be Careful From The Launch The Dam Is To Your Left 2-3? miles The Cable (overhead power lines )To Your Right DO NOT GO PAST THE CABLE NO WATER AND BIG ROCKS If The Weather Holds This Might Be A Good Weekend
Good Luck

Maybe its not a ruler its a river level marker acouple of hundred yards downstream from rivers edge. on the right hand side as you are going downstream. I also think it shows the record level of the river.
