When using smaller in-line boards, such as Yellowbirds or Church TX12s, is it a good idea to try to rig tattle flags on them with springs or rubberbands, or will their smaller size telegraph fish well enough without them?

If you're new to pulling boards, if you fish where non-target species or small walleyes are common, if you expect to pull harnesses at slower speeds or if weeds become an issue in the summer then a flag indicator will likely be worthwhile.

Once you watched them for several hundred hours, you'll wonder why you bothered.

Good luck.

I run the tattle flags on my Offshore's and Church's and the biggest reason for doing this is my 60 year old dad!!! He spends 3/4 the day trolling the Western Basin telling me "it looks like there is something on that one." With the tattle tales he gets to enjoy his Bud Lights and snacks more and I don't have to keep telling him it's the waves!

<EDIT> no selling is allowed in the forums! Please email Scott Golden at scott@walleyecentral.com for information on advertising oppurtunities on Walleye Central

i use the tx-12s and they are small enough that no flag is needed. a rock bass or perch will rip it back just fine. the walleyes usually sink it unless they are very small.
