View Full Version : LCX 28 or LCX 38
I am debating on which unit to get. I was thinking about getting two 28's, and putting one on the bow and the other on the console. Or I was thinking about just getting the 38. I know the 38 has a bigger screen and more pixels, but is it worth the extra money. I have a 16 boat, and I was thinking I could get a swivel mount and just turn the unit on the console.
I should also say that this is my first boat, so I don't have any real idea about how to rig up the boat for two units.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Get a .38, two .357's and a .45

Of course the budget is the first concern. Secondly how much time do you spend fishing from the bow.
But be aware that putting one on the dash and "turning it" to see it while your up front just does not work well at all. Kind of hard on the neck too...but it will work.
Having 2 units one up front and one on the dash networked even if the screen size is smaller is sure the prefered method.
Just my 2 cents
Thanks Crankbaiter.
I was thinking about networking. I was sure how to connect to the battery from the bow.
I would love to go with a 38 on the console and a 28 on the bow. But will most likely end up with 28's on both.

Depends on your dashboard room and visibility for driving once the bigger screen is used.We have a 24' PennYenn with small cuddy up front. Since there is a entrance to the cuddy it splits the dash. We went to 2 seperate units 510c and X515 giving use seperat 5" screens and the ability to have the guy in back setting lines see the fishfinder better while the driver has better view of gps. Just worked better in our situation, fyi. we got them on sale thru BP att 449 each back in july 07.

I was facing the same decision, and went with the LCX 38 HD, best move I ever made. Also, saved a lot of money on map chips, since there are so many lakes pre-loaded.
