Is there a best deep fryer for fish out there that you would recommend? I'm talking about the ones you hook up to the propane tank to get out of the house.

Most of the fryers under $50 come with a aluminum pan and they work fine but after a few years the pot gets burn marks and grease spills burnt on and they look a little bad but it still works fine. The ones with a cast iron pot is my favorate. The stainless is great too but more expensive.

I agree with the previous post that the under 50 dollar one's are just fine. I too think the cast iron pots are best. I have the turkey kit too and love it. And by the way, I would not recommend driving over them with the truck. I've tested two of them in that fashion, and they never worked after that. lol lol

Check out the T-FAL deep fat fryers! I am going order one soon. I used a friend's T-Fal last summer, they are very nice. The model I like runs a little more ($65 or so) but it has a lot of nice features.
Their website: www.tfal.com (I think that's correct!)

I bought a 30qt stainless steel pot with a basket, turkey stand, handle thing, injector and some other stuff for like $65-70 at Sam's Club. You cant even get a s.s. pot for much less than that. It also came with the stand/burner. EVERYTHING. Works great. Fried a 26lb turkey in it for xmas. They dont get any better than that
