I will be staying in Green Bay the week of May 19 and am looking for suggestions on fishing opportunities before or after the work week. I am looking for suggestions on if I should haul my boat up (I live in north central Illinois), or wade river/stream, or rent a boat or use a guide. I am enjoy fishing smallmouth and/or walleye. Also if you recommend Lake Michigan, are there alternate places to fish if the wind is up. I will be working in Two Rivers, but staying in Green Bay Sunday through Friday. So I could stay elsewhere before or after the workweek. I would appreciate any recommendations.

Thanks,
LASSH

Look at a map of Green Bay and you will see many places to launch and reefs to work either close to the Green Bay Metro Launch or either side of the bay. You can ck out University Bay close in or venture to the reefs. If things get too rough for you, you have the Fox River from the mouth all the way up to the Depere dam. Lots of opportunities.
Take care,

Green Bay is a great place to go fishing. If you are only going to make it out once you could probably almost hire a guide for the gas savings of leaving the boat at home. Then you would be fishing the big water with someone who knows the what and where(hopefully).

Fox River in Depere would have been a no brainer with one of the A#1 walleye runs in the state but that is almost done now. I am sure that there will still be fish in the river though, including smallies which should be turning on.

Hotspots maps from a sporting goods store. Lakemaster or Navionics have very good chips that include that area.
