I have roughly 1/4 gallon of Quick Silver oil in my boat and just found I can get the LubriMatic TCW-3 oil for $7.00 a gallon. Any issues with mixing?

Thanks, Turk.

Should be no problem. As long as they are TCW-3 it won't make any difference what brand they are.

I can tell you from experience that some oils mixed together will turn into a jello like goo. Don't mix Quicksilver with Johnson.

When I change over to a new brand, I run the oil down in the tank to about 1/8th empty. Then fill it up with the new stuff. Wait until you are into the boating season. The killer is leaving the mixed brands sitting around.

TCW2 and earlier oils sometimes gelled and had other problems when mixing brands. One of the standards for TCW3 is that it is compatable with other TCW3 oils.
