is there any good spinner tying kits out there or do you guys just go to the local bait shop and by the pieces on at a time? also do you guys use flouro carbon leaders with spinners or what?

thanks,

I just went with buying the pieces myself at a local tackle shop. All you need is some line, hooks, beads, colorado blades and the little blade-keeper-on thingy. Of course, many variations exist and you can go nuts with options.

I didn't go flouro on my leaders...just used an inexpensive mono.

Advantages are custom leader lengths, and colour combos. Good winter fun as well.

Buy your own components. Cost will be likely cheaper on a per rig basis, and you get to pick the colours and quality of the components you want (which is important for hooks and blades).

I think that a clear mono line works best for your line - no high visibility stuff.

My 2 cents.

Hey Tom, I've been tying my own spinners for years. Cabelas has a great kit in their catologe. I got mine 4 years ago and still have everything I need. I just had to some more beads and hooks. Its a great kit, and provides a good way to kill time in the off season. Plus it gives you so many options. Check Cabelas.

Best place to buy beads is at a craft store alot cheaper and more colors to choose from.

I would use the quick change clevis though. They are a little more but it is nice to be able to vary your blades when necessary.
