Did I do something wrong. I have downloaded a hotspots region for a friends Garmin 168. It tell me to choose carefully because the coupon code is only good for one download unlock. I chose region 6, WI, ILL, MI, OH. Well how come it doesn't have Lake Winnebago. I get Sturgeon Bay, Castle Rock, etc. but no Lake Winnebago or surrounding lakes. If thats all you get for this unit, that just stinks. What is up with that?

Check their website. It lists the lakes that are on the fishing hotspots cd.I looked to buy the hotspots cd but I live in ohio and there isn't one inland lake for ohio on that cd.I would imagine at somepoint in the future they will add some for ohio but for now it is useless to me. goose925 http://www.garmin.com/

Hey, OB...
The Winnebago map is indeed available in Region 7 of their newly released MapSource products. It not only includes the big lake, but Poygan, Winneconne, Butte des Morts, Castle Rock, Chequamegon Bay, Eagle River and Eau Claire chains, Geneva, Green Bay, Pewaukee, Minocqua, Kawaguesaga, Mid, Tomahawk, Presque Isle, Sturgeon Bay, the Turtle-Flambeau Flowage and Wissota. Quite a mix of fixing...enjoy!

Orange Barrel,
You have me very confused. Region 6 is Minnesota and Region 7 is Wisconsin. Region 7 has Winnebago on it. This is Garmin's Map Source.
Do you have their latest version?

Nothing in the "near" future, but upgrades in the works for existing maps, possibly some more waters down around Cinci and some chunks of the River.

Well, than Garmin's Website is a bunch of B.S., because none of the stuff you people are telling me has shown up on the website I went to. I went to the site that the cd directed me to. From there I did what the onscreen source told me to do. It even said I had all the updates. Unless, BOATUS, which is where he got this unit from had it sitting on a shelf forever waiting to be sold and it is outdated. But that still wouldn't make any sense. Something is weird here. I am typing this from my home so I will try there website again, but, I know what I saw, and I did not see what you guys are seeing. Wish me luck.

Mike.. I am considering the Garmin with the Hot Spots mapping also. Do you have any idea when NY state areas will be available?

The new version is 4.0, sounds like you have last years version. If it is last years version you can download a update coupon or possibly get the new version for free if you ulocked after jan 20th something i think. It's all on garmin's website. Good luck. Let us know how the software works. I'm also going to order it here in a couple weeks. Can't wait to try it out on Winnebago and the other chain of lakes.

All of region 7 is contoured...a lot of it is new data too! As for NY, it's another area in the planning stages, as we have a lot of maps but few are in digital form. We want to upgrade them and add some new ones, especially the Finger Lakes. Stay tuned.
