While at Cabela's tournament saw some boats with rods at least ten feet long. Can anybody tell me where I can find some that are reasonably priced (Less than 100 bucks a piece) already use 8 foot salmon roods but want the extra clearance. Also please share some of your experiences with them. Right now thinking dead stick and possibly for crank baits. Open to all suggestions including different ways to rig them. In Washington and Oregon people are trying to get a second rod stamp enacted. In the mean time I think would be handy when I take my three grand kids fishing. And thanks Cabelas had a great time hope to come bakc in 2009...

Thanks

Brian

Brian,
Check out the Bass Pro Shop - Tight line rods.
Right now, they are selling for about $45 each.
They come in 12, 14 and 16 foot lengths.

They have a pretty robust butt section, but still have a soft enough tip to be able to read crank baits, and or other baits.

It turns out that lots of folks are using these rods for many types of fishing, including cat fishing, off shore fishing, walleye and salmon fishing.

Give one a try and let us know what you think.

Take care

On the right track with BPS, but also look at the Walleye Angler trolling rods. They have them in 7.5', 8', 8.5', and 12'. $69.99 and $89.99.
