I am willing to bet there are several different ways to run a slo death set up, even tho it has been recommended to run this hook with or without a single bead.
A set up I have been utilizing (and working very well btw)is a 1.9 smile blade with a stack of beads ahead of a slo death hook. I gotta say you get it all with this rig.....flash, action and scent. Have also run two different sized smile blades on a dbl stack of beads....gets a pretty good flop going on the hook, erratic, yet controlled spin/flop.
Have also used the same blade/bead setup up on "Mr Crappie" hooks (a little longer version of tru turn hooks) with curly tails/paddle tails skewered on. Now this rig has really been producing.
