Eagle 500C unit question

I just bought one of these units and I think I really like it. Except that I can't figure out what the little box in the upper right hand corner of the display is. It is a small box with a number in it that changes all of the time. Nothing in the owners manual.

In case it matters, I run the unit in manual with the sensitivity pop-up window always on. I ran it in automatic the first few hours and that was a joke.

OK, you got me curious now too. I'll check on this today and get back to you.

Try running the unit on "Simulator" mode and than look for a correlation with the display in question, and the numeric data page readings.

What I suspect it may be is..(Just a guess)...When the 500C is on manual mode this upper right hand corner display is showing you sonar sensitivity readings. And while on Auto mode, this display may not appear at all.

Or....it could be a number put there just to drive you nuts? Or...today's Power Pall numbers? ;)

I can't look at the simulated mode since we are going back to Canada in ten days I left my unit at the camp instead of dragging it back and forth over the border.

Appreciate your finding out anything. The little window is quite small, maybe one inch wide and half that tall. It runs at the upper Right hand corner of the display. Directly above the "under the boat" scale on the far right of the screen.

I guess you don't always have to go to church to ponder mysterious stuff! :-) Maybe it's part of the "Lost" show on TV. I sure don't understand that either. (I'm beginning to see a pattern here) John Louck might know what it is..............

Ah...I got busy at work and gapped out checking on that display function issue for you....sorry.

I'm stumped?

I was unable to replicate the upper right hand window display mystery number. It may not do it on demo mode and that is the only option I had to tinker with on the display.

If it was on the upper left, there can be many options as to what it may be.

Sorry...no help here.
