Do you plan on running inside and outside lead lines off the side of the boat like dipsy's? If you are it is my opinion that you are running them way too close to each other and your tangles will be inevitable. I run lead for salmon/steelhead but put the rod's up high on my arch and run them down the chute or off boards to get them out to the side.

I run two six foot rods straight back, from the coners of the boat. They stick up at about a 45 degree angle. I then run two 10 foot, two piece, K/P Bass Pro rods, out each side of the boat, so the tips are about 1 foot above the water. When I make turns, I make large turns, or let the outside lines back 20 extra feet. If I run three poles on each side, I'm usually running Off Shore boards.

I don't know what anybody else thinks, but I have rods with the very thin metallic eyes. If I had it to do over again, I may look for a rod with a ceramic eye or maybe even a roller. I only think that because I have gotten snagged before where I couldn't get to the rod in time to release the reels spool and it can put kind of a nasty kink in the line. I don't think leadcore line likes that too much. Maybe this isn't a concern, but this was my thinking. Let me know if I am misguided.
