Just ordered this charger and am going to have to add on to leads because they are to short. Anyone done this before?

Yes. I ordered the extension (I got it through Cabela's). My trolling motor batteries are up front, but the starting battery is in the back. Very easy. Sue from Guest monitors this board and if memory serves me correctly she said it is not necessary to order their extension. I ordered it for convenience sake.

Yep, just did it this year. Sue D. from guest gave me all the info. I'm pretty sure it was 12 or 14 gauge wire. After using several time this year already its working fine. Guest also has a kit for about $12-15 dollars.

I just did the same last week on a 2631. I needed to lengthen one bank for my starting batteries (TM batteries in front, 2631 in front, starting batteries in rear). The extension kit from Guest comes with 14 gauge wires, the same as come on the charger. I needed to add about 15 feet, so I opted to go with 12 gauge wires. Worked sweet! Remember to keep an inline fuse in the positive wire run.

After speaking with the tech from Guest I used 14GA wire that I had and extended the 3 amp leads to my starting battery appx 8 ft. Keep the in line fuse close to the battery, pos terminal. I soldered my connections which may not be essential but I prefer the most positive connection.

I also doubled up or stacked the 5 amp leads on my one trolling motor battery so I have 10 amps going to that battery and if I decide I need a second trolling motor battery I am ready to go.

Good luck.
