I have a lowrance global 3000 , wich is the better mapping source for my unit. The navionics regional or the hot spots cd,s mmc chips. Thanks

I called Navionics and this is the information I was given. Hotspots maps on MMC cards for Lowrance products on Erie's western basin will not zoom closer than 1/2 mile. They will not guarantee this distance however (something about different hardware constraints in various companies products) and it varies by lake. Navionics does offer a higher detailed map of Lake Erie but I'm unsure the zoom range. Also they offer navigation charts- not marked for fishing.
The question of zoom range on an X-15 with the Hotspots MMC has been asked several times here on WC and, although some have said they like the map, no one seems able to answer the question on ZOOM.
HOW TIGHT WILL A LOWRANCE X PRODUCT USING A HOTSPOTS MMC OF LAKE ERIE ZOOM IN????
Maybe we can get an answer this time....:)
I have the Lake Erie map from Navionics number US649T12 and the zoom scale on my Globalmap 3000 goes to 1.6 mile scale. Hope this helps.

Thank you, Rich! Is this the Hotspots map or the navigation map?
This is the Navionics map. I was looking at a brochure that was inside my box and they seem to also have a US649XL map. I am not sure what the difference is between that map and the US649T12.

I called Navionics and the map that I purchased is the XL with the extra detail. The lady that I spoke with said that the map goes down to .5 nautical mile for detail. The 1.6 mile on the globalmap is the zoom range. I hope I said that right.
I was confused by the different coding on the package that the mmc came in but as I said it is the XL map.
