Here is a question for you bow hunters. I recently bought some string leeches for my bow to quiet it down. I have seen them placed in different spots on the strings of different bows. My question is for best results should they be closer to the axels or the release point? Also should there be any noticeable difference in shooting performance when these are added? Thanks in advance for the replies........

In general they should be about 25% in from each end. On a 40" axel-to-axel bow that would be about 10" from each end. You will need to adjust some if they interfere with other accessories.

I don't know if they are supposed to but mine move around a little and I have to move them back. Glad to get the information in "Netminder" post. Thanks.

SD there are a couple things you can do to keep them in place. First is wrap a small cable tie around them and cinch the cable tie down good and tight with a pair of pliers. The other thing you can try is buy a spool of dacron serving thread at an archery shop and serve them in top and bottom. The 2nd choice takes a little longer but it looks better and your leeches won't move.

I bought a box of Sims string leeches. There were 4 in the box. Are you supposed to use all 4?

Thanks, wiggle

On string leeches, be sure and measure them so they are the same length from top and bottom. This will affect the quietness of the bow more than it would seem if not the same,,,,,,,,shadowalker
