Great buck Nick - is that a Michigan buck or out of state? If Michigan, what county? Oh - you might also want to wear boots on those cold mornings.

Nice buck Captain, heck of a lot bigger than what I have seen. Looks like you hunt in you jigging clothes, and what the heck is the no boots thing? Congrats.

Tom (mich)

Good point, and question. Nick - do you hunt in your jigging clothes, or jig in your hunting clothes?

Capt.Nick

For the record it wasnt that cold out(40*-45*)im just getting my feet ready for jiggin. Shot that deer right outside of Ann Arbor,Michigan on the 26th nov. over 250 yards away with a muzzleloader. The deer will score over 170 its a 14 pointer on the dft side the it has 3 point each over 9 inches long.Im looking for someone to mount the whole deer for me at a good price if someone knows anyone i let them display the deer for a year.peace

Capt, see you decided not to go back to the MWT. Guess you finally got tired of the day to day rule changes, etc., etc. What are you planning instead?

I doubt that deer will gross 160 let alone 170. No way it nets out above 150, it is just way to uneven. I could be wrong as the photos are terrible for judging the rack but I'd say someone told you a story Nick.

bow
11-29-2004, 06:38 PM
I shot a 4x5 with my bow last weekend. I did a rough scoring and his raw score was 128, and after deductions he made 123.5. As a this is a green score, he'll shrink and will never make the required P&Y of 125, but this is still the biggest buck I've ever shot.

I'm still happy ;-)

I have one deer on my wall right now that gross scored 194 and ended up at 182 with all the deductions. That deer missed boone and crockett by one point non typical. This one is right up there with that one i also have a 12 that scores in the 130s, and a 12 that scored 128,a eight that scored 121,and one that was 115 hold on im going to take pictures and post them too.

Go back to the main topic and click the pictures foward you will see some nice bucks before you get to the boone and crockett purse. The first deer scores 194 gross and ended up 182.The next two are 115-130.The next one is a babie and then there are three orther deer that score in the 120s.All taken in the state of michigan in the last ten years and I only hunt 60 days of the year.Fishing on the other hand about 200 days a year. The other hundred days spent with the family price-less.

I don't understand, it grossed 194 and netted 182 and it missed B&C by one point? 195 is the min non typical score for deer sure enough but 182 is aloooong ways in to the book typical (170 min) So how did you miss the book?
I got to agree with the others that there's now way this latest deer will net much over 155. It is just way to uneven.

Capt.Nick
12-19-2004, 07:38 PM
About 5 mile from Saline, between Ann Arbor and Saline. Now there is this nice 10 that ill have to try and get with the bow, seen twice in the last ten days he wont come into the fields.Next nice afternoon ill have a shot at him if things go right.

Tomorrow should be decent if the wind stays down. Being in treestand with 20mph winds isn't real fun. Good luck

Got a real nice doe the other night. Used a 2004 Buick Lesabre One hit and it was all over. I would not have got it but it slipped and fell on the snow covered road. My 7th or 8th in 13 years and I have never fired a shot.Rick H.
