Had a 6 & an 8pt come w/in 5yds of my blind, looking in. They were definitely curious about what was going on inside. I sat there motionless covered in 3D leafy oaf w/ my head down so we wouldn't make eye contact.
I let them get settled down near the bait pile when a couple older doe & a yearling doe came in. The 8pt buck chased them for a few minutes before they all started on the pile of carrots, corn & apples I'd been putting out for a couple of mos.
I drew back on the 8pt, when something caught their eye, I wasn't sure if it was me or something else that spooked them. I let the string back slowly & waited to see what they were going to do.
From behind the white cedar, a 10pt came in quick, heading for the 8pt. They tusseled for a few minutes until they all became more interested in the carrots under the tree.
Except the 10pt, he diverted his attention to one of the older doe near my blind.
It's at this point I drew back slowly hoping to not spook him from my movement; he was 10yds quatered away from me. Just when I reached full draw... he & the rest of them bolted in different directions.

I saw that same 8pt the night before in the field behind me... I hunt the pond where he & the doe drink while munching on my bait pile. }(
The doe have been coming in for the past few mos, mostly an hour after sun up. The bucks however, started just this past week; they were mostly moving late at night. Oh yeah... it's on.
