Six weeks to Grouse season here in Michigan ! Takeing My first vacation in six years - 9 days of camping - hunting and plain relaxing . My Setter Pup is ready & rearing to go, and the new 28 ga. is itching to pop a few primers :). Geez - I'm geeked already. Is it September 15 yet ? Bob.

I here ya! I've been working my dogs the last few weeks and it's really got me going.:cheers: 1 more month and we can start pulling the trigger!

I haven't purchased My licence yet - how close does the Woodcock season open to the Grouse opener ? Last year it was TOUGH not to pull the trigger on rising Timberdoodles the first few days ! Ofcourse We flushed MANY more Doodles than Grouse :). This will be season #2 for My Setter - She is READY. Bob WC#253

Not sure in Michigan? Here in Mn, woodcock opens Sept. 24, grouse opens Sept. 17. I use grouse opener as an excuse to scout for deer/build stands, carry the old .410, if I'm lucky enough to hit one it's a bonus. I know the dogs will be ready...will my eye???? Got to love Sept.-Dec. Big fish, grouse, pheasant and deer. If only we had fall weather year round! Good luck to you this season, may your dog be on it's game and your eye be true!

I assume you setter is an English. I have an 11 year old #### of Tamoka lines..Was wondering what bloodlines your dog has. I'd like to think about a pup, but don't know if I'm up toit as I'm 87 but still kicking. My dogs grandfather Tamoka Hotshot was the gun dog champ of Ohio manyyears ago and would like top find that bloodline if possible..amy help would be appreciated..S.A."Bud" Tyler...AKA oldecoy@yahoo.com
