Dove season oppened this morning. Sure are fun little birds. I made it out this morning for a few min. Used a new shotgun and went 5 for 5. Man, I hate that, now there is no place to go but down.------------------------------Any other dove shooters out there?

Swede - Sounds like fun! Here in Michigan, they have a few southern countys that are open for Doves (exprimental season). If things go well, after four years, they will open it Statewide. Bob
That's good shooting swede. I went 12 for 18 and my twelve year old went 1 for 25 this afternoon.

Went out again in the evening----------went 6 for 21-------pride goeth before the fall.

Just got a report that the doves are thick in S.W. Ks. also the quail are looking good in that area too. Has anybody seen any quail this year in your parts.
I keep hearing that it's going to be a great year again.....I can't wait to see those high tails. Thanks god for elk season that just might keep me going until Nov. Happy Hunting
Been trying, not seeing many doves most places, places I'm seeing a lot of them aren't easy to hunt, grass is too tall, etc. A bit tough so far here in SD. Have to try out some other places, hopefully there's not too many people out and I can try the spots closer to home. Been a little frustrating so far. Dad and I went out sunday night, didn't shoot a single shell. Could have done better than that 5 miles out at sea, I would think.
Averaging about 5 per evening so far, but not shooting at very many birds. Hopefully it gets better this coming weekend.
