Opening Weekend Bird Hunting

Hey , how did everybody do?
After going to South Dakota It's hard to hunt here in Colorado. We walked and walked miles before we seen a Rooster to shoot at for the dogs.Tuesday was pure #### out in the field. We had 50-60 MPH winds.
I hunted anyway because it was better then drinking beer ALL day long in the camper. Anyway three of us ended up with 7 Roosters and 1 quail.
I sure wished Colorado D.O.W. would more for the birds. All they are after is out of state elk tag $$$$. Well can't wait until the end of the month to do a hunt in KS. That is about the closest place to South Dakota when it comes to bird hunting for us Greenies. Hope everybody did better then us out there. Happy Hunting

This past weekend during muzzle loading hunting, In central Minnesota ,I noticed that the phesants are really making a come back. While sitting in my deer stand on sat. morning I counted at least 25 ####'s and hen's in one group by the edge of an unpicked cornfeild. Alot of the land around where I live is in CRP or planted in pine trees. About the only crops around our area is corn and some types of hay.
