An old hunter was onced asked why he loved bird hunting so much. He said that every time his dog flushed a big, smart, wild rooster, it was like the first time he kissed the girle that later became his wife.---What a great feeling.-----Thats why.

It's a hard thing to explain. When your dog is on point and holds for you to flush a rooster. Or even better when your other dog backs. You flush , shoot and your dog retrieves. It's like that for that one instance, everything has come together. That everything is as it is supposed to be.

It's like seeing a beautiful sunrise.

Yep, some of my best hunting trips have been watching my shorthair on point. It's amazing what they can do.

Heck,

I think hunting and watching my dogs work is better than that!

I never analyzed it. but, it is a love thing!
I love it.
My dogs love it.
I love my dogs.
My dogs love me.
I love to watch the dogs work.
The dogs love for me to let them work.
I love my guns.
I love the places where the birds live...the smells, the sounds, the views, the memories, the tradition.
I love it all.
