Took a run to South Dakota last week to do a little fishing (Peirre)
it was really dry but the birds that I seen looked like they where in pretty good shape. Seen some broods running around with some hens but I would say that half the hens didn't have broods running with them.All in all I still thing the season will be good.

It looked like a good hatch early in the year, BUT it doesn't look so good now. It has been so HOT and DRY this summer that it looks like most of the young birds didn't make it. Things are looking pretty sad around here, (looks like December). On the bright side, I didn't spend much money on lawn mower gas thes summer, and the fishing is still going strong. I hear that the SE part of the state had a good hatch, and some nice rain that we didn't get.
