I was wondering if there would be enough interest in a get together?
(that is if Scott would approve) Maybe bring a trainer in for a seminar. Have "fun" hunts with live birds, shoot some clay birds? ect.
not sure how we could all make it but maybe start here in Colorado and move them to other parts of the country as the web site get bigger.I was just thinking of ways we could all meet and help each other on training issues. ####, you might even meet a couple of good ol birds and trade a trip or two. What do you guy and gals think?

I think it's a great idea! I would attend if one were held in Mn. or near by. Here in Mn we have an event called GAME FAIR, it has just about EVERYTHING that has to do with hunting. You can bring your dog and enter them in fun events, shoot different guns, and meet some great people. It's a blast!

I'd be insterested, and depending on the timing, I think I could round up a few other guys too.

I'll run it by Scott.

I have cleared this through Scott and he's all for it. If decide there is enough interest, we can get the ball rolling.

Here we Go Guy's and Gal's ! We have Scott's Ok! Now all we need to do is plan a date that will work with everybodys work /fishing schedule and make it happen. I would really like to see Swede Sd (the wise guy ) come down and join us....( boy you gave me a complex about cleaning my dog trailer) :)
This doesn't need to happen in Colorado. We can do this somewhere else. I just put that out there...I would be willing to help put this together here in Colorado because I live here and have contacts.but would be willing to help out if we get together close to home like Wy,KS,Neb,Nm, WE are open for suggestions.

I'd be interested in this too. I wish I had enough land I'd just invite everyone here but I have a pretty good idea.

I hunted some preserve pheasants at the above for the first time last year. It's just off I-29 between Brookings and Watertown in SD. He's an awful nice guy that doesn't charge very much. He'd probably put a package together for 3 birds/$80. It's only $35 for a preserve permit in SD and you can hunt in the AM. He provided rolls, coffee, lunch sandwiches, pop.

There lots to do in the area outdoors wise also and you aren't too far from a huge Scheels, Cabela's, Sportsman's Warehouse, Kones Corner (Huge gun store).

SD is the home of the $300/day hunt too, that's just not for me.

Todd's idea is great, but just to throw out another option, I do have room at my place to host something like this, and would be more than willing.

A few issues:
I live about 15 minutes from the closet motel, but have plenty of room for plenty of campers

I don't exactly have cover that would accomdate any kind of live hunt. It would be more or less just a gathering to show off dogs and share ideas / stories.

The idea sounds interesting. Would you let someone with English ****ers participate?

Well, let me throw this out to you guy's
If we could get a few guy's / gal's together ,I'm sure I could put something together with the owner of the Runaway Inn, in Jose, Colorado.

He has a super nice preserve.
Nice clean Rooms
Hot tubs
Restaurant
Bar
Shooting range
Golf, putt and driving range
mules and carriages
places for an evening walk with a good Smelly cigar
play area for kids

If we could get enough folks we could get the cost down to make it a great weekend hunt/fest.

Just to clarify, the Runaway Inn is in "Joes" Colorado, about a 2 hour drive east of Denver. Carl, the owner, has lots of land to set birds, but cannot hunt during April, May, June, July and August. I think that is true for all preserves in Colorado.

By September, I expect he will have pheasants, chukar and quail.

It seems you know how much Carl enjoys those "smelly cigars"!
