Beagle

Just purchase a Beagle (AKC ) from a man and we didn't talk about rabbit hunting,but he belongs to a Beagle club that feild trail these dogs but they walk and bark. My question is can I train this pup to run and hunt or is it in the breed

Yes, and Yes! Beagles love to hunt...it's in their breed. But, you will still need to train him/her on basic obedience to keep it under control while in the field.

I had a friend/coworker who told me his dad had nothing but beagles, and hunted pheasants with them, At first I didn't believe him, but, after my wife bought a beagle 7 or 8 years ago, I believe that dog would hunt until it passed out if I took it hunting.... It's always tracking in the back yard, and letting you know it too!!

We have kiled hundards of birds over beagles. We even took third in the Ia/Il pheasant championship with one, about twenty years ago. Standard poddles/beagles mix makes a great all around dog.
