I had rotator cuff surgery last week. I figured my hunting season was over for this year. Not to mention most of the ice fishing season. It was a nice day so I decided to let the dog have some fun. We went to a fairly popular public area. Peggy Sue ran up 16 pheasants and managed to catch two of them. I had them for supper. I don't imagine it will work this well all of the time. But it was a pleasant change of pace. :) :) :) :)

Last year, I had a lot of work done on my right shoulder. Three days after my arm was out of the immobilizer, I was in a tree in Manitoba hunting black bear with a 45-70 rifle loaded with Buffalo Bore ammunition (400 grain bullet at 2000 fps in a 7 1/2 pound rifle).
I had bought a standard thickness strap-on Past recoil pad and was pleasantly surprised by its effectiveness. It spread the recoil out over a much greater width, taking the pain out of the recoil.
I didn't see a bear worth the price of having a rug made.

Hey Larry... just shoot left handed...it doesn't sound like it matters if you hit anything ... with that dog. LOL!

:):)

Yup...I agree. It is really fun when they grab one!

That sounds like a lot of fun. Any day with a good dog has to be a good one!

And don't have to worry about spitting out any bb's, even!
Have you got Peggy Sue trained to just grab roosters?
Valuable dog!

Years ago I had a black lab that was pretty good about only catching roosters. But Peggy Sue will grab anything with feathers. If she is really hot I have to put her on a leash when I have my limit.

Here is a picture from last week
