How about posting pics of your ice fishing rigs. Everyone has a different set up, they fish in differnet areas in different conditions. Fun to see others set up. Photos listed in photo url Skeeter

Use the WALLEYE CENTRAL BUSINESS DIRECTORY "Skeeters Stuff" under marine supplies (boat cleaning supplies), it really does work.

I was bored a couple of winters ago and made a 4 foot Polar HT style tipup. We have caught several pike and bass with it. It makes quite a racket when the flag goes off!

Dont have any pictures loaded on the pc but here it goes.
2002 yamaha kodiak 400 4wd
Garmin gps 172 w/bluechart chip mounted on front.
Shappel dx4000, dx3000, rover i.5 (depends which one I use if I bring ppl out with me)
Strikemaster lazer 10"
Vexilar fl-8
ovs camera.
I have a big box that is mounted on the back rack w/ all my gear inside and a bracket that I welded up that holds the shanty so everything is mounted on the quad. No sled to pull so its easier for crack jumping. Just drive it off the truck and your on your way no wasted time loading up in the parking lot. Ill post pics soon.

Yep...that's what I saw when I first fished Saginaw Bay, and I said "Now that's how it's done." I've since rigged that way and believe it's the only way to go.

I believe it is also the only way to go. Many times during the week I dont get out on the ice until after 4:30 so just being able to drive off the truck and go gives me an extra 15-20 min of fishing time and there are times where that really counts. Also the peace of mind that nothing is going to fall off or get lost is another bonus of this style of rig. I have lost plenty of stuff and tipped over many sleds hitting that chunk ice that sneaks up on you. As far as crack jumping at night goes, I always mark the area where I cross a crack on the way out that way when I come back through, I can use caution on the approach. When I can see that it didnt open too much, turn around and go back 50 yds, turn around again and give it ####. I dont try to fly over anything wider then 5ft thats my limit and I never had any problems clearing anything 5ft and smaller. We have to get together this winter skeeter and chase some gators across the bay since i always end up fishing by myself and have no one to talk to out there. Hmmmmm wonder if I could fabricate something for the marine radio. Might not have any extra room but they do make handhelds lol. Hopefully we get some ice this year.

No pictures, but the gear is as follows:
2004 GMC 4x4 Ext cab to get on the ice.
HI-Tech 2 man clam stye tent, came with chairs.
Sunflower heater with 10 lb propane tank.
2 Aqua View cameras. One for me, one for the wife(or guest).
2 HP 8" Jiffy ice auger. Can't say enough good things about this Jiffy.
Sure do like the portable tent. Just fold her up, toss it in the back of the truck an move on.
Aqua view cameras have been a little expensive to own. Both camera's needed repair. One cost me $300.00 CDN to have it fixed. As I bought it used. The previous owner did not know that he should have had it fixed under warranty. Not sure that he even knew it was not working properly. Probably had nothing to compare it to. More than likely he thought the camera just had a poor picture. Shame on you Aqua View. The other was defective right out of the box. Had to pay shipping to get it repaired. Funny thing is, two of my buds also had issues with thier cameras as well, but that did not stop me from owning two of them.
As for the auger, went from a 3 HP Jiffy to the 2 HP Jiffy. What a difference. The 2 Hp has some kind of fuel injection. Sure it has the same issue as all motors of any type. But it starts good.

Here's mine:
www.walleyecentral.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=3600&cat=500&ppuser=109330
It was built in 2003, 8 x 16, two bunks, 6 holes, gas lights, 12v lights, stereo, TV/DVD player, and gas burner to cook on. Its really roughing it...
I also have a portable and 400 Outlander to pull it, with these two setups we can usually find someplace to fish!
