Wondering how the MECCA of ice fishing is looking for the upcoming season. I'm told it is expected to be a pretty good winter for ice fishing. Several websites are reporting ice in the bays already this morning. We will be taking our annual trip towards mid January. Bring on them JUMBO perch! The evening walleye bite last winter was phenomenal. Lets hear any reports / speculation!?

Looking out my picture window, I can no longer see open water. She got pretty darn cold last night and I think that locked everything up.
The forecast looks good for ice making for the next week or so. I saw someone fishng in the ditches two days ago, must have been chasing pike.
It won't be long now.

After the excellent walleye and Pike bite last year i've never been so excited to get back out on the ice. Even though the perch fishing was tough last year we did finally have some great days of fishing Jumbos later in the season. The problem was that we were looking in the wrong places. Since the lake has risen so much the perch arent using the traditional places they used too. One of the most excitiong things to happen last year is that we stumbled on to the crappies. We always new their were some crappies in the lake but we never thought the population was that big. We had some great days catching some really nice slabs.
Good Luck and we will see you on the ice!
