This is very interesting. I generally vote Democrat, because I believe that Dems do a better job of keeping our lakes and rivers clean. I find it ironic that Republicans, for the most part, created the National Park System, Clean Water Act, and several other pieces of legislation that would now be termed "Democrat" issues and that "modern" Republicans are now doing everything in there power to weaken some of those laws.
There are definately things about liberals that get my blood boiling, but many of those issue, when toned down, can be made tolerable.
Gun Control is the biggest thing that concerns me about dems, but I figure that I can do more to change that from within the party, than all the things that bug me about Republicans.

I HATE it when people try to take a subject and turn it into something political. This is a fishing website for Christ's sake. I'm sick of people wanting to know where I work..if I own the place...etc, etc, etc. Go to work for the Gallup poll people if you're that curious!! Want to know what color underwear I'm wearing??!!
Lighten up dude. We are all just trying to find something to do until we can get the boats into the water.

About you underwear...Don't really care about the color, however it would appear to be several sizes too small.:)

I dare you to start a poll on uderwear color! Common, I tripple dog dare you! You could use a smile.
<{{}}><
I HATE it when people click on a post-thread-poll they have no interest in and then whine about it.
Also please note the "General Discussion" heading.
EyeJacke - good one!
I'd like to talk about football here... how many innings is in a game???... And why do the ice down the ball???... ;)
My Dad always taught me that republicans mount their fish, and democrats eat them. hehe... Imagine his surprise when his kid turned republican on him! About the same as when he turned democrat on his Dad! hahaha :)
My Dad is a writer, and when my Grandpa found out he was going to journalism school instead of becoming a chemist, my Grandpa told him, "All journalists are either drunks or democrats..." My Dad still says Grandpa was more dissappointed that he was a democrat... hehe...
Just a little fun. I try to be a good person in general, but I have no problem saying I vote with my wallet. The more money I have, the more I can use it the way I WANT TO, not how some gov lacky tells me I should. MHO.

I would have to agree with the poster "DUH". Like I tell the people who get down on me for having an opinion. That most of the time starts out on a fishing/outdoor related subject And through my passion about the subject gets twisted a bit:) If you don't like what I talk about, don't hit the enter button. I must thank Scott and the crew for not killing my posts that get a little off subject from time to time. If the above poll is right, my viewpoint is in the majority and not the minority, as some have pointed out wrongly. A little bit of off-subject debate I feel is good and breaks up "what pitch prop do I need?" and "Spartan trailers are no good". Like "Duh" said, don't hit the enter key if you can't stomach the subject. I think this is even more true if you can't even bring "your" opinion to the table. If a couple of posts a month have some political ideology opinions in them, big deal. If there are 2 to 3 off topic posts a month versus the 500+ posts a month that are most likely on this board, that gives you 497+ posts to keep you very busy. There must be 5 to 10 people that whine to Scott about off-subject posts. I hope he sees the 1000 others who like reading the debate or who could care less about who says what. They know "they" have control of their enter button, and can point the cursor at posts that matter to them. So I ask Scott, please be a little "liberal":) on off subject posts. It can add a little spice to the discussions on this board.

Hey, it is a legitimate post. With this info, that 71% of us on the board ar republicans, gosh, that has to say something. If nothing else, we have some lobbying power!

Ok, everyone who is republican please stand up. If you answer no to any of the following, please sit down. How many of you run a Lund? Of those left, how many of you run a Mercury? Now how many of you are in the 10 pound club? Now of those left, how many of you got a big buck last hunting season? Still standing? How many of you have a hot looking wife that you would not trade for anything? Anyone still standing? If you are, you are lucky like me. If you are democrat, that eliminated you right away. Can we get back to fishing?

I wonder how many converted democrats are now republicans after 9-11? I know I would have switched if I wasn't already on the right side.
Simple answer....read close enough and it says how do you vote on the title line. What'd you think it was for church deacon? If you don't like that part, don't click on it. What do you do if the TV runs a program you don't like?Sheesh lighten up .....it's a long hanging winter.
any pres. would of done the same thing bush did so why should I change. I make money every time a demo. is pres. lets see if he can finish what he started or be like his father.thats as far as i'm going with this because its a fishing site not political........

I wouldn't bet on that. I'm thinking Al Gore would have just finished writing his tenth letter to Osama Bin Laden, asking him to stop this terrorism thing, in the tradition of typical weak Democrats like Clinton and Carter.
we will see, time will tell all. They should make a lake out of afgahnastan, and have the championship there next year.
Name me one thing Clinton did to as you say keep you in the money? One policy change from Reagan or Bush that did anything to the economy? Or did he ride 7 years on a rollercoaster already set up for him?? On republican Greenpans coat tails. And finally his do nothing policies show in his last year when he could have really fixed it before it broke!! Nuff Said, CW
CAN YOU SAY ENRON??
First week of office: eliminates price controls on energy in Cal.
Second week: Appoints Anderson lawyer to top spot on Energy Commision.
Enron was Bush's leading financial contributer.
I'd take Monica under the desk any day!!

Sorry llg, I'm not taking sides in this one but Kenneth Lay was a guest in the Lincoln bedroom under the Clinton admin; not Bush. Enron approached the Bush admin twice for help and was told to take a hike.
Again, not being partisan to any party but if one doesn't like Bush, please don't say Enron in the same sentence. Ever since the Enron story broke, I've yet to hear one specific allegation. But I constantly hear that Bush is somehow connected to Enron in some underhanded way? What is it? Can anyone please tell me? And don't say campaign contributions because Enron gave just as much to the dems as the gop.
I would really like to know. Thanks.
Polls like this should be a good respite from the long cold winter. I would bet that there would be little response if this was posted in July. If we can not fish, let's have fun.
Second leading contributions made to the Al Gore campaign!! Thats like saying big oil only gave to the republican party, when in actuallity they gave dang near the same to the democratic campaigns also. Big oil isn't stupid their not gonna cut their own throats by giving just to one side soley. They always seem to take an educated guess at who'll be in next and give more to them. And none of the people appointed that you stated did anything to change any policy not already implemented. They just tweeked it to make the same thing keep working. I just wish all parties and especially the ones that do it the most would stop taking credit for things they never started in the first place. Of course honesty and politics don't exist do they!! By the way you can have Monica she is one ugly thing!! CW

CJW I am thinking a person might make more money during a democrat presidency if he or she is on welfare.
When the price controls were lifted, the market price dropped. In fact, Tom Gray is in political hot water as he made some long term price deals at higher prices for energy, which are now way above the market. Just proves price controls don't work, the market does.
And I'll second the Clinton/Lay/Lincoln bedroom tit for tat. After Lay launched a deposit to the hands of Mack McLarty, the overseas power plant project for Enron went like silk. It helps when you have an administration backing it. The problem now is that the project, guranteed with US Tax payer money, is failing. All backed at the urging of Bill Clinton.
There is a very similar matter with McAullife, Clinton, Carl Lindner, Pipeline Holdings ESOP. It goes like this, Lindner, a contributor to both parties, gave Clinton and Co. a big hit donation in the mid 90's for the upcoming term two. Linder also bankrolled McAulliffe in his purchase of a huge homebuilding company. This is all a history. A company that Linder had majority holdings in was ESOP'd to its employees. The employees' reps in the deal fealt they got the shaft on some mistated/unstated liabilities. They never got a hearing. Do you think they would with the Clinton Justice Dept? That's one that won't make print because it's long gone, swept under the carpet. But it shows what's happend a developed trend.
There's a lot you could beat Bush up with, but Enron isn't it. It's a tired ploy by the Democratic party leadership. I'm not a lock step fan of Bush, but after looking at Gore, and now seeing the tactics of Daschle, Gephart, McAulliffe etc, I'd say we'll have Bush for quite a while. They are throwing "you know what" against the wall...and it's just that ...."you know what".
One correction, it was Gray Davis, not Tom Gray.
CJW, I did not say gore was the answer he is not and out of both who ran, I just put an x somwhere. but every time a demo. is in office my 401k looks good. mine looks like ##### right now. Just remember bush is no angel. lets just wait and see. lets go fishing.
