The battery operated tip-up that will jig the bait up/down 1.5 inches.Do they freeze up in LOW temps? Any reviews?

I have never used them but have read on other ice fishing sites that they are junk. If it's the Nature's Vision one or it might go by another name, check out this web link.

I bought one to try and here is my honest opinion: It isn't junk, but I only use it for northern now. My main problem with it is you can't set it for a "light" trip. For any fish other than northern, I set my tip-ups so they trip at the lightest tap possible, and I can't do that with the Jig-Up. I have not had any mechanical problems with it, it performed fine last winter for me, although I only used it 3-4 times. Just my .02....

They do work as advertised but the 1 1/2" jigging motion just is not enough when in water over 10ft.And the jigging motion is not adjustable as far as speed. If they could double or triple that then i would consider buying one.Just my own preference I guess.
