I'm considering an ice fishing trip to LOTW the first week of march and renting a sleeper shack. Has anyone fished the lake during this time of year? How is the fishing? I would like to chase walleye/sauger/lake trout. Any insights on renting the sleeper shack - good or bad idea?? Thanks for any input

The last 2 years we would fish around the 17th of March. We used snowmobile to pull around our equipment. Would fish in a couple different areas with good luck (walleye, saugers & perch). Would have a good meal the first night then get our limit to take home. Fish don't jump out of the water, you have to work for them (moving around). The morning & evening bites were the best. We have had great weather both years with temp around 30 & little wind. Good Luck:grd:

Most (not all) resorts up on LOW don't run sleepers. They take you out in the AM and pick you up in the afternoon. Two reasons. 1. The night bite pretty much sucks and 2. They want you in thier bars/resturaunts spending money!
