View Full Version : HT clip on spring bobbers
OK, I used to feel intelligent, that is until I wanted to try a couple of these clip on coil spring bobbers from HT. Is there someone out there who can help me learn how to attach these things? A picture of how it goes on would be great but if you could give me some steps I would appreciate that too.
The ones I ordered have the bright orange tip where the line will come through. There is a small yellow sliding plastic tube on the other end that serves some purpose.

Sounds like you don't have the clip on ones, but the heat shrink ones instead. They are probably better anyway.
I don't use either, but I use the "flat" type spring boober with the single larger (orange) eye in the end. Throw all the other crap that comes with it away. Take some thread and super glue and just wrap it on. Nothing gets in the way of your line, and it is easy to thread line through. It is not adjustable or removable, but that is a good reason to buy more rods. I have tried most types, but this is the best way that I have found.

I actually liked the heat shrink way on the couple of flat ones i installed. The heat shrink got tight enough only to hold the bobber tight but i can still slide the spring in for storage or out to use.
I had looked at the heat shrink ones but opted for these clip on styles because, I think, I would like to be able to change them if needed. Here are some pictures of the bobbers.

I've never seen that particular one but have some like that with a red bead. Slide the plastic piece up place the open part around the rod tip below the last eyelet, then slide the plastic piece back on to hold it tight. The ones with the bead i have never really held tight though and i gave up on them.
