We went out of Agassiz Lodge landing on Friday and setup about 3.5 miles out along the heave with everyone else. A few nice walleye and two crappie by Noon on Saturday. 40 degrees and bright sun - a beautiful day.
Lodge owner Jeff Freyholtz stopped by and mentioned he just got his limit of 14" crappie and would guide us out to his honey hole if we wanted. We did, and by 4pm on Saturday all four of us had our limit of 10 - all 13"-14.5" slabbers. What a blast! Some holes would produce 3-4 fish in just a few minutes.
Totally worth the guide fee for the afternoon. If you're on Red and frustrated, find a guide!
