i am looking for a new way to heat the otter sled, the sunflower heaters seem to get to hot and usually end up burning something, and the big buddy heaters are very undependable, I know of four people that have had them have lasted a full season. just wondering what others have had luck using.

The Buddy heater are great you just need to have a filter on them if you are going to connect them to the tanks that are bigger than the 1 lb tanks. That is where people screw up they try to save $10.00 and not use the filter and the heater gets plugged with oil from the larger tanks.
I have been running my Buddy for 3 years and I use it a lot. I even run it in my Garage when it gets really cold to keep my beer from freezing.

I agree on the Big Buddy, just make sure you get a filter,I also riveted a piece of metal in front of piolet light to keep wind from blowing it out.

this is very odd because i call mr heater myself and talked to a tech and they said it was not neccesary if i used the quick connect hose on a 20 lb tank. another freind used the filter on a 20 lb tank and still had problems, it sounds like they need fix a problem with the big buddy heaters, but then on the other hand just the buddy heaters suppose to have no problems. i just dont know what to think.

I never used the Big Buddy, but my regular buddy works great, for 10 bucks I bought the filter.

I use a 5 pound tank with a T single mantle lantern and a flat cook stove that shoots straight up. Can turn the flame way down. I set it in front by the door.

I use the one pound tanks and just refill them off of a 20 lber in the garage. Never had a problem with my buddy heater.
