I was thinking of all the cash invested in my portable and it got me wondering hoe long will these portables actually last before the walls bow out or the plastic wears out and starts to fall apart?

I would say it is directly related to how often it is used, how hard it is used, is it pulled by hand or with a machine and how rough you are with it when setting up and taking it down. I expect my portable to last a long time.

I have had one for 5 years and it looks like new. Keep it stored where mice cannot get at it and don't drag it across the blacktop and it will last a long time.

I have a clam fish trap pro that is 10 years old and still in great shape. I use it about 3 times a week. I fish mainly lakes less than 500 acres and pull it by hand and the bottom is still in good shape. If you go long range with an ATV I would put runners on it to keep the bottom in good condition.

My fish trap pro is going on 8 or 9 years. I did start wearing holes in the back corners of the sled (before i bought a quad), so i cut up an old pair of snow ski's and bolted them on. With the price of the knew ones i can for see many more years with this one.

Well my Clam 2000 was fine until I took it out on that bad Erie ice early last season ! I would say never tow behind a 4 wheeler ot snowmobile. I think that is waht did it in. I wanted new base from Clam corp but it cost as much whole new shanty.!! I thought they would make good on some type of deal but no way !
