I am going to visit my brother-in-law in St. Paul and we are going to the show to visit Camp Manitou. We have a trout ice fishing trip booked for the first week of Jan., this is the first time going with them, since I am going to be in the area I might as well take some time to go meet them and see if there is anything special that we need to bring. We have stay on crow before, but with all the traffic in the area we were looking for something a little more remote with better fishing, it's the same drive time so travel isn't an issue. Check them out at www.campmanitoufishing.net maybe we will see you up there.
Good Luck

We are headed down to the show to visit with our outfitter and check any deals that might be had. If any of you are looking for someplace different to try, we use Gateway North Outfitters and have been satisfied each time. They will be at the show, maybe they can help out or refer you somewhere else if they are full.

Our group went to ice trout fishing on Pipestone from 1995 - 2005, we skipped 2006, my brother went to the ice show last year in st. paul and found camp manitou on manitou lake. We ended up trying this lake and we caught more and bigger fish than we ever have in the past it is a great laker lake. The nice thing about the area is it's the same travel time as pipestone, but there is far less traffic.
We didn't know where to start, but Matt the owner gave us a few spots and that's all we needed. We have booked again for 8 people at the end of feb. If you make it to the show stop by and say hi to the guys, tell them greg from johnson charters mentioned them on fishing minnesota
Good luck this winter, This is the best fishing site going.
