Why would you go to a lake with a 2 fish limit? (Daily AND Possession) It will take you about 10 minutes to limit out then what?

The rule change takes effect next week:

It's not always about getting a limit. Infact for many...it's NEVER about getting a limit and filling the freezer, the way it should be.

Made a few trips up there last year, had a blast caught a ton of nice walleyes, C&R, and decent numbers of slabs. What to do when you keep that "limit" of walleyes...chase slabs or target the huge pike that roam the lake. Or, how about just kicking back and visiting with friends...it's not always about the "limit".

I'll admit I'm down on that lake. Two hours up the road you got all that and more. Like a real town with real resorts and real hospitality.

The Johhny P's around Red rub me the wrong way!

John, if your getting chaffed on Red, I would go further north too. I agree that LOW is a far more interesting fishery. From what I hear, Johnny P is a great guy and outstanding fishing guide. Chad Benson also does a good job of putting you on fish on Red.

"I agree that LOW is a far more interesting fishery...."

Amen to that. Pretty much the point I was making.

You could always try Hillmans for friendly and excellent service.
He probably has newer shacks since I've been there too.

There's always the Westwind also. Nice shacks, food and bar.

We've tried a few others and have been let down up there.
