Looking to purchase a set in the next couple weeks, was wondering your opinions on weather to go with the insulated or not? Is the insulated going to be too warm? Just looking for opinions.

thanks in advance

I have had the insulated parka and bibs for a few years now and they are very warm, so I just recently picked up the non-insulated bibs and jacket, I do wish I would have just done that from the beginning and then layered polar fleece underneath. Otherwise I love the guidewear products, and pretty much live in them for 2-3 months of the year. Oh and by the way dont be caught dead without the red!! :)

Do a search on it, you will find a lot of info on this subject. I would and did go with the non-inuslated. I wouldn't want to imagine wearing insulated in the summer, and guideswear is heavy stuff so you don't need the insulated. Good luck!

Started a thread on this a while back, didnt get a definitive answer, maybe the note was too long and wordy and not understood.. Trying to find out if the insulated jacket is warm enough, yet not too bulky, to use as good all purpose ,all around jacket in the cool to cold months of early spring, and late fall on those nasty windy days to early december, whether its raining or not. No intention of using in summmer months. Thanks.

I went w/ the Guidewear Lite and have no regrets. I just bought the set large enough to wear clothes underneath in the fall. Works good enough for the girls that I go with:)

I was also wondering if any of you have tried the XCR series, and which is better.

thanks in advance

Remember that you get what you pay for. we went with the Guidewear LITE and love it. Light enough to wear in the summer and when layered with two sets of polar fleece is very warm an wind resistant on the water or ice. It also has full length leg zippers and velcro on all zipper flaps, seals you up good. It (burgandy colored) even looks good enough to wear to soccer games without looking like you're going duck hunting.

Is Guidewear "Lite" in the Cabelas's catalog?? Dont recall seeing it,never saw Burgundy color either. Is Cabelas the only outlet for Guidwear?
